One semester to go.

This is me, writing exam. Thank you brother Gom Dorji for the picture.
My end-semester exams for semester 7 of Electronics and Communication Engineering concluded today (26/11/2015). I am not confident enough to say that I will pass all the modules until the results are declared. I have doubts regarding two modules: Radio Frequency and Microwave Engineering, and VLSI (Very Large Scale Integrated Circuit), whether I will manage to score above 50.
Hopefully, I am expecting to get slightly more than 50. With the end of the semester exams, my mind feels completely free, and I feel relieved as if I have stepped out of a poorly ventilated house.
Now, I have one semester left, the final semester (8th semester). Before the semester begins, I need to complete 41 days of on-the-job training (OJT). Fortunately, I have been placed at the college itself, and I will be working under the ICT department of CST.
Going off-topic, it has been over a month since I last updated my blog. I realize that I am becoming lazy. Usually, I update my blog with updates on what I am doing. Let me get back to my regular routine and write about my daily activities on my blog to keep it alive.

One last Welcome Picnic at College of Science and Technology

Twelve of September two thousand and fifteen (12/9/2015) a welcome picnic was organized by second year students dedicating to the first year students. The picnic venue wasn’t at same location as before. This time, it was at extreme end of Pasakha, beyond the Industrials estate. However the venue was perfect compare to before.

I enjoyed more. The enjoyment was beyond my expectation. Thank you organizers.

Welcome speech on Fete day

Kuzu zangpo

Respected honorable guests, director, staffs and my dear friends.

Today coinciding with college foundation day, the club NDLD (Nyedrom Dang Lokzey dekhang), the Radio Club of CST is hosting the fete day. This has been doing since 2012 on this particular day. Today I would like to thank senior members (outgoing members) of NDLD for making new culture. The main objective behind in organizing fete day is to support our club in term of financial for purchasing radio equipment.

I assure you that you will enjoy the day with host of fete day. You will end up your day with full joy and happiness playing around fete matter. You can play as well as eat upon your wish. So, I on behalf of host, NDLD would like to welcome each one of you to the event.  Have a good and enjoyable day.

Well come speech on Fashion show, CST

                                    Well come speech
This is Jigme Zangpo, 4ECE wishing you A very warm good evening and kuzungzangpo.
Respected Director, Deans, lecturers and my dear friends.

It is my great pleasure to welcome you all to the CST Fashion show for winter semester 2015.
The Fashion show is organized by NDLD, Neydrom Dang Lokzey Dekhang. The main objectives behind for organizing is to raise fund for NDLD and of course the entertainment and to offer platform to talented students.
The very theme of CST fashion show, 2015 is on waste management.
There is a need for a complete rethinking of waste, to analyses if waste is indeed waste. A rethinking that calls for
                               WASTE to become WEALTH
                                REFUSE to become RESOURCE
                                TRASH to become CASH

Fashion has become a large part of identity making in the post-human world in which people play dress-up with their clothing. We care about what we wear a great deal because our culture emphasizes an outward appearance. Fashion changes every season, squeezing our wallets

You may not be chasing fashion but you can't be indifferent because fashion is inherent in our culture and people are always impressed by those who know the taste of trendiest trends. Our appearance depends on what we are wrapped in; fashion is about our social status, success, individualism, and good taste.

We like clothes that wear well. We dream of clothes that impress. We desire clothes that make us aggressively gorgeous
Finally, I would like to extend my warmest congratulations to the family of CST for their efforts in putting together to this event.  I would also like to wish you all an enjoyable and productive Fashion show.
 Kadrindenche

P.S Thank you google for help.

The TERM TEST I is over yet TERM TEST II in line.

Radio Frequency Band and Designation writing under process
Courtesy: Gom Dorji, Lecturer.
The life goes on so fast but busy at engineering college. Just more than a month after reporting, there comes a TERM TEST I. A semester is too short with tight schedule. I just had TERM TEST I on 1st to 3rd September, 2015. A month later, TERM TEST II will come despite of having a lot of assignments, final year project topic review and writing a final document of technical seminar in between. Again a month later there comes End semester Exam. And finally a 7th semester come to the end. A question arise in my mind, will I step up to 8th semester? Just simple to step up to next semester, pass all the modules. I am struggling to do that and I will do that.

The more relevant is grade I score. Will the grade of mine be fair, good or excellent? It is hard to have excellent but I will aim to have my grade with excellent rating.

One Last TAG Night at College of Science and Technology (CST)

In an engineering college relaxing program is must after an exhausting studies. So, therefore in summer semester there is a program called TAG Night. It is the program where student will buy TAG and tag their favorite girl or boy to dance. That is night where Miss CST, Miss TAG, Miss Evergreen and Mr. Gentle man will be crown. Miss CST will be crown based on talent that the first year possess (A Ram walk and question answer session will carry out for each contestant to get select as Miss CST). There will be judge form final year students to evaluate.   Miss TAG will be crown based on number of tag she tag by boys. (Highest number tag tag will be crown as Miss TAG).

The program shall remind my stay at CST and this is my last TAG night.

One Last Introductory Night (Intro-Nite) at College of Science and Technology (CST)

Introductory night which is famously known as Intro-Nite by students of CST which is Summer Semester program which organize at CST by Third year student for welcoming new comers (First year). During the night all first year will go on the stage and introduce themselves. And jam-up session will kick off soon after introductory session.
The program which is organize starting from evening until mid-night was held this summer semester (2015) on 12 July 2015.

It was my last Intro-Nite. Besides reminding that night as my last Intro-Nite, it also reminded me of my first year Intro-Nite. I clearly remembered the night where I introduced myself on the same stage where newcomer are doing today. The interesting part of that night is when I remembered I was drunk and final year brother taking me to washroom for shower.

Joining College of Science and Technology, CST.

After a yearlong course in Spain, I am joining CST again in final year. All my friends were pass out of CST after completing four year course. I have few friends (my batch) and juniors who I know. Many faces seems to be new to me. It is difficult to differentiate even who is final year students for me. For me everyone seems to be first year. Fortunately, I can recognize first year students during meal in dining hall as they wear gho and kira (National dress for Bhutanese) and by the position, where they dine.

Inspiring and motivating speech by Dean Academic, CST.

I was inspired by Dean Academic speech made today during the hosting session of assembly (28/4/2014). He started with scaring student. You are done with two third of semester and you are left with one third of semester. Timetable for end semester will out within short period of time (maximum 10 days from today).
Some student who listened might think it was simple strategies when he make speech but those common and simple strategies generally make mistake by everyone of us in daily life.
I could take note of his speech. Below are highlighted point that I could catch up.
·      Happiness,
·      Sleep and
·      Toy/instrument.
 Happiness.
On top of tending to forget doing our scheduled task we disturb serious student at work. For instance when it is time for studying (at 8pm, generally observe as silence hour) students go room to room for gossiping to kill his or her boredom. To students who are genuinely want to study has no option to reject his gossip as Dean has pointed out all student are brought up in the cream of Bhutanese system. If you really want happy within yourself and want to see your friend happy, don’t go to gossip with serious student during silence hour (study hour at 8pm). If you go and gossip with serious student, you are making your friend unhappy as your friend think for sure is, it would better if you go.
Sleep.
In connection with happiness he talks about duration of sleep that we required. He mention three type of sleeps: Under sleep, Normal sleep and Over sleep. If we fall under the category of Under sleep and Over sleep we will have problem. Instead of feeling light you feel drowsy and pain of body. Hope you all have better experience of it. Now what is the solution for above problem? To get solution you have to read sub-topic toys/instrument as follow.
Toys/Instruments.
He used sensitive and unforgettable word like Toys/Instruments. Here Toys/Instrument represent laptop and things that are main factor for wasting time. There is only one weekend in a week but for us every week days are treated as weekend. Every day you watch movies and browsing social media for no purposes at late night.  Here comes the problem by Under sleep. Some student prefer early to bed than watching movies or browsing social media but we never realize how much we sleep and here comes problem by Over sleep. Staying late night result in Under sleep on top of missing morning class that start at 8am. Over sleep is for sure to miss all classes of morning session.
I learn great lesson with his simple and effective speech.
P.S: Instead of going room to room for gossiping, make timer (6 hours) and go to bed. Walk up early when timer walks you up. It will make you happy within and your friend too.
And Dzongkha proverb says: ཕྱི་རུ་ཉལ་མ་ཤེས་རྟ་དང་འདྲ་།དྲོ་པ་ལོང་མ་ཤེས་ཕགཔ་དང་འདྲ་།

“It says one who go to bed at late night are same as horse and one who walk up late in the morning are as same as pig”.

I contest for the nominee for the post of IAC member.(councilor)

With a good intention, I decide to contest for the post of Institute of Academic Committee, IAC member for the academic year 2014 and 2015. Inspite of I having a responsible (I was Vice President for NDLD, Radio Club of the college), I contest to let the wish of fellow students fulfill  I decided put up all the possible commitment to the post of IAC. Following is speech I prepare to deliver during councilor election.

A warm good afternoon and kuzuzangpo to everybody.
Respected Director, Dean, Provost, councilors and my friends.
Firstly, if I introduce myself. My name is Jigme Zangpo. I am from 3rd year ECE. I would be very honored and privileged to represent an IAC member.
I would give anything to be IAC member in the following year 2014, I feel I can be a positive leader and excellent role model for younger students as well as my peers. I am already familiar with leadership roles, having been a Class representative from the year 2011 to 2012. And a captains in school day in lower school.
I believe I have a number of good qualities such as honesty, respect, listening and leadership. I am well organized and I like to do tasks that I am given very quickly. I treat everyone equally and try my best to include everyone in activities.

My vision;
Proposing of reviewing the duration of phase test to higher authority.
Proposing like no need of repeating CA for back paper or keeping option to higher authority.
When shifting class for next period to next class, there cause inconvenience to tutor as well as to students. Some class mightn’t have experience but will experience one day. Biologically our brain need rest after certain period. So If I am elected, I will propose the class period like 1st period from 8 – 8:55, 2nd from 9-9:55 so on by keeping 5 minutes break.
Above are the few of my dream and I will be working to turn into reality. I will always let your voice raised on any issue. Based upon your voice raised I will forward to higher authority accordingly.  I should represent student body in any case but not as Jigme zangpo and his friend. I am sure I will talk to any of councilors on behalf of you, if you feel hesitate to talk him when he or she is out of track or doing his or her benefit. I have experience as junior that we cannot tell when they make mistake. Now anyone can contact me if you find any of councilor doing mistake unknowingly or intentionally. I will always talk with them. I am physically weak and small, so never afraid in approaching me but mentally I am bold enough to contact anyone as per as I am right and you give right information. Hope you all don’t bully me as I am weak. No no, you won’t do that, and I was just kidding.
I don’t believe in talking but I do believe in doing. Promise less and deliver more is my motto.
My dear friends, I would like to assure you one thing for sure that my commitment to the college will live past this election.
Your thoughts will be my goal
your desire will be my vision
your smile will be my victory.

If I am elected I shall thankful: if not. It will be all the same.
Finally I quote “The ballot is stronger than the bullet. A vote is like riffle, its usefulness depends upon the character of the user. ” I unquote. Now your vote meant a lot. Happy voting.

Of course I am not elected. I was third in ranking. Top two was selected for the post as only two will represent at IAC meeting. I am happy that I could resume my already elected post the president of Radio club. I will work and pursue the aim and objective of the club.

Once in a blue moon.

“If wealth is loss, something is loss. If health is loss, everything is loss.” It is better nurture our health than anything before it is too late. Eating on time doesn't mean you are caring your health. The regular, if not a frequent cardiovascular exercise is obligatory. I regret for not doing an exercises for fitness of my body. If we couldn't do exercises, the playing of physical games are good for fitness.

During departmental tournament.
I have my mind set to play football to let my body keep fitness. One who know me will be astonished when they see me playing football. In fact I am playing football for the first time after making here to college. It’s not so easy to play football. One have to have a unceasing practice.

Study tour to Chukha Hydro Power (CHP).

Visiting the CHP and Tala Hydro Power (THP) will be given to the students of College of Science and Technology when student are in 5th semester. On 15th October, 2013 Electronic and Communication engineering and Electrical engineering students’ tour to CHP was scheduled and 17th October, 2013, tour to THP was scheduled. We should get up early in the morning at 5:00am and get ready by 5:30am to move from College to CHP on 15/10/2013. No sooner did we walk up to get ready, the power shut down. It was a bad luck for us. With the mobile light, we hurry up in getting ready. We could finally get ready to move. We move only at 6 pass in the morning.

Singing and shouting to the top of voice was starting scene of our journey. After a short travel, we are tired of singing and shouting and we quit. We resume our scene of start of journey after we had tea and snack at Dantak Cafeteria.
Dantak Cafeteria
We visit the Power plant of Chukha and next the station. The only I can reflect here is about the units. There are 4 units (generators) and each unit has a capable of generating 84MW theoretically and which makes the total of 336MW. The two unit shut down during the winter season when the volume of the river drops down. At present, as it was summer and volume of the river has swollen, all the 4 units are under used. It is generating 10% extra than that of theoretical value. 1967 was the year of starting of project and was completed in 1988. Soon the Corporation will celebrate the silver jubilee as its running 25 years old.

We made a visit to Tala Dam on same day. Dam of Tala is located 23 km ahead of Power House of Tala.
Flow of water through the dam
View of Dam
It was 2:00 in the afternoon. We are all exhausted. We don’t even had a lunch and we are all waiting to reach one of the Restaurant. At 2 pass in the afternoon we had a lunch at one of the restaurant.
 energy gain after having lunch
Friends again resume the scene of starting of journey but within short period of time all were silence. It was owing to heavy lunch and all were snoring. It was interesting tour and I should say a trips to CHP for enjoyment.

After a tiring journey we made back to College at 6 pass in the evening. I was having an assignment to be submitted next day (16/10/2013) but I couldn't write more than a definition. I decided to print the type one. And I remembered the next tour (tour to THP) would be more interesting than Tour to CHP before i went to sleep at 8 pass in the evening.

The Fete day was successful and let thanks members

The 26th September, 2013 was another remarkable day for Radio Club (NDLD) of College and Science and Technology. The day was observed as College Foundation day. We the members of Radio Club organized that day as a fete day. The preparation for fete day began a week before a day without notice of other students. The cooperation among the members (3rd years and 4th year ECE) result in making a day successful.

As soon the tradition program for foundation day was ended, the chief guest (Director of College), staffs and students disperse for the game to be played. With limited coupons for the day as we have no time in making. In deed the Gangotri group of Jaigoen, India had agreed to sponsor the entire necessary coupons. Other than that we didn’t face any problem. The small problem get tackle when our club members work together to obtained required number of coupons.

Among the games that present for fete day was car racing being most attractive. This was my view. The other games may be seen most attractive for other people. The games like Fishing the juice, Ball and glass, dart and board, wheel of fortune, ring the bell, football and tyre, driving coin and Tombola made a day interesting.

Car Racing
Fishing the juice wasn’t bad. The no stopping customer gave a coordinator a tough time in hot and sunny day. The sweeping of sweat from his face with his handkerchief was frequent action we could noticed despite of coordinating the players. And the calling of customer by saying “fishing… fishing… fishing….” was what we could heard.
fishing....

Coming to the wheel of fortune, a number start with 1 till 8 and addition a jackpot. A coordinator explaining to the player that no one will get prize if it stop at jackpot. As soon as all player choice the number, he turn the wheel of fortune by saying jackpot... jackpot…jackpot……..
And a boy along with his friend (girl) was coordinating the ‘ring the bell’. A player comes to play to hit the gong (bell), so he tied the player eye with a piece of cloth. The game wasn't fair as the player friend’s guide to hit the bell by giving instruction till player hit the bell. It was only when I go around to collect coupon from coordinator of this game made a game a fair (not fair as preceding year). There was some player blaming me not allowing to guide the players. Let the player blame me. I won’t mind unless we have profit.

Right of the area of ‘ring the bell’ was a boy coordinating the ‘football and tyre game’. Students, a fan of football making queue to play that game. He collect football and gave to the players time and again. His black shoes almost become a sneaker by the end of the game.

Bending down to collect fallen glasses repeatedly whenever I see was the scenario that I could see in the field of ‘glass and ball game’. The exhausted coordinator picking up the glasses and build the pyramid (not exactly) to the customer waiting to play.
Two beautiful ladies giving a colorful dart to the player to hit the board. The player aiming to the inner circle of the board but never they could hit even the outer circle. In fact we are making profit for our club.
‘Driving coin’ the game making profit with limited resource. We just have to manage bucket, water, glass and coins. Two ladies coordinating the game was having a good time in coordinating the game.

“Tombola….tombola… tombola…… the players are all students, no players from staff side” was the coordinator of Tombola speak out in microphone frequently. It was another game that the club made profit.

And the committee members of club like President go around with seal to seal the winning coupon to give to the winners. I was going around like any other committee member to collect coupon to return to the counter. Coupon sellers at the counter are busy selling the coupons.
The fourth year girls was busy dealing with customer who comes in food stall.

To our surprise the prize for the winner get exhaust before the estimated time. The club would have made good profit if prize shop would have sustain till 2:00pm. We regret for limited prize we kept. Mistake are the lesson for future fete day. Finally the winners for the lottery are drawn at 2:00 pass in the afternoon.

With my open heart and soul, let me thank every individual for your good cooperation for a day. Let me never forget to thank to 2nd year ECE for their helping hand for the fete day. Without the full cooperation among the club members would not result to successful fete day. To my fellow mate, let’s follow the bright footprint of seniors, the 4th year ECE.You may also like this

Radio Club in College of Science and Technology.

www.google

NDLD club (Nyendrom Dang Lokzhey Dekhang) or Radio Club was launched in 2012 (winter semester) by the outgoing ECE graduate (first batch). Phuntsho Gyaden, our first President who was person behind to coordinate in making the club to be existed. And the Electronic and Communication Engineering become a separate department on College foundation day, 26th September, 2012 (Before ECE was under the Electrical Department). The club was active after it gets full support from ECE faculties and of course from management of the college.

The aim and objectives of club was none other than giving a student’s exploration in the field of Electronics. On top of familiarizing the electronics, club has another mini project, to launch a Radio Station.  Students are expected to know minor reparation in disorder and damage electronics goods after they get trained from experience people. The frequency of radio station will be covering only the college campus.

Reaching destination is never so easy. There are always bent along the road that destruct our way. Similarly, to come up with mini project like building of Radio station, the destruction comes along. The major destruction, in regard in coming up Radio Station is expenditure.  To purchase a FM (minimum ranges that will cover CST campus) cost huge amount. The club members look the alternative source in generating fund for Radio Station rather than depending on Management of College. The fete day was first event that the club has organized to generate fund. It was organized in collaboration of College Foundation day in 2012 (26th September, winter semester). Indeed it was huge amount we the club could generate from that particular day. The hardship, dedication and optimistic we had for a club and working together was factor for successes.

Amount we generate from fete day is too low to start our radio station. Then the club comes up with another event in 2013, the summer semester. The event was fashion show competition among classes. A smart amount was generated from this event. The detail about the event, like who were the winners and runners up will not be included in this writing as I have no record of the event.

Now, we have our Club President Kiley Wangchuck handling the responsible of the club after our senior member passed out. He has come up with the Electronics Repair shop by allocating the room for it after management approved the room. Shortly, we will open our Electronic Repair shop.
www.google.com

Radio club is essential to everyone and particularly to the ECE students. Our course demand, we should have skill in this field like which principle the Radio station work, how it work and which ranges and strength of signal required for assigned area to be covered. The club will not only help the Club member in gaining skill in Radio field but also in minor reparation of electronics. I can say club is one of extraordinary club in College of Science and Technology.  We are hoping to get everything in placed.
www.google.com

Now, our senior members of club are remaining a semester to go. After a semester we have to shoulder responsible of the club in making the reality of club exist like Radio Station.  We will work with best effort to come up the Radio Station very soon. The corporation among the members, coordination among the members and support from the management will determine in making the club reality.

Rewo Sang choe. (Morning Prayer)

Performing Morning Prayer

College of Science Technology, the only technical college in Bhutan and is located 5km north of Phuntsholing town. There are many clubs in college which students engaged in making a club productive. Nangpai Zhenu is one of the club among the clubs that exist in CST. Nangpai Zhenu is the Dzongkha term which literary mean the “young Buddhist”. It was come to exist in 2013 (summer semester). Prayer secretary, Ugyen Chopel, was person behind to make a club to exist. He proposed this proposal of having a club to the authority. Club shall not only benefit to sentient being in this life but also in life to come. Within a short period of time as club has many merits, the authority approved,Nangpai Zhenu as a new club of CST.

Lopen Gempo , lop Tshering (Dean Research) and Director of College are also equally important in making the club to emerges. They gave full support in forwarding the club proposal. Therefore let me extent my heartfelt felicitation on behalf of club members, I would like to say, Thank you very much for your good initiative and your good initiative will be always looked upon by kenchosum. Without their full support, the club would not have make into existence of club as today.

Club was introduced for many reasons and purpose. Usually, the technical students forget the practicing of Dharma. And it directly connects to way of thinking. Its only through this simple practice of Dharma, we would always keep track of Dharma. Practicing Dharma in simple way with effective thought is indeed a good practice of Dharma. We wouldn’t realize about the real meaning of our life unless we follow and understand Buddhism. Buddhism teaches you the meaning of life. The club, Nangpai Zhenu, in spite of focusing on the task related to religious one and carrying out the task but will also conduct small ritual like ReoSangChoe (Morning Prayer).

As of now, there are more than 50 members in the club. If I commented on the members of the club, members of the club are simple. The word simple should understand as humble, sympathy, helping hand and kind minded. We the members perform Morning Prayer. Unlike last semester, (summer semester) the club used to do Morning Prayer every morning but skip on Tuesday and Friday when class tests were there but this semester (winter semester) as the test was schedule for particular period of time, club conduct the Morning Prayer on every Tuesday, Thursday, Saturday and Sunday. Morning Prayer is also performed on auspicious day even if the day is not our scheduled day.
Members of Nangpai Zhenu

The most of the members of the club were second year students but now they are in third year. I am bit worried, whether the club will in position to performed a Morning Prayer as what we are doing. Existence of club and doing nothing worth is wrong to name a club as Nangpai Zhenu. It is not that juniors can’t do the Morning Prayers. They have the ability to follow the senior’s trend. The only thing they can do is watches when senior perform with sense of learning. Judging the member of club reducing when comes to batch wise, I can say people are becoming different. My expectation from future members of the club, the Nangpai Zhenu is nothing more than the trend to be followed and introduce more programs in the club.

The Nangpai Zhenu, recent trip was the Trip to Threlma Lhakhang. Trips to Threlma Lhakang was organized in order to clean around the Lhankhang. The clubs motivation and hopes are nothing great but to achieve community services.

In our daily life, our day should be start off with Rewo Sang Choe, the Morning Prayers. Doing the Rewo Sang Choe help us in many ways. The misfortune of our life, the failures on the way of pursuing the success and many more that suppressed our success are removed by having the faith in Rewo Sang Choe. Rewo Sang Choe is wonderful and powerful Prayer. It is not necessarily that the Rewo Sang Choe should be performed with religious instruments. It can also be performed without religious instrument depends upon the situation of time, absent of instruments and number of people present.

Trip to Threlma Lhakhang

                    The Trip to Threlma Lhakhang.

We the members of Nangpai Zhenu (The young Buddhist) made trip to Threlma Lhakhang (located 2km from College of science and Technology) on 18th of August 2013 lead by our prayer secretary and lopen Tshering, then the Dean Research. The trip to Threlma Lhakang was neither for fun nor for pilgrim. The only reason behind was to contribute something that will benefit to the people residing or monks who resides when they performed puja.

The emotional intelligence should be utilize for beneficiary purpose rather to waste in making nothing contribution to the society. The more important in today’s ages of world is EQ (emotional question) than an IQ (intelligence question). If a person is rich in EQ, the society considers him to be the best. A man with IQ is expected to have much ego than man with EQ. The helping hand will come if we have EQ rather than personal benefit with IQ. We the members of Nangpai Zhenu believe in EQ and 18th August 2013 trip to Threlma Lhankhang was scheduled.

Usually, we start our morning prayer at 6:00 am but today we could start only at 6 pass as the consecration of Sertong of Mani Dungkhor 1 was in the line. The lama from CST gonpa consecrated the completion and building of Sertong in Dungkhor. We gathered in front of  Block D to moved towards Threlma Lhankhang at 8:30 am. As soon we arrived Lhakhang, we started cutting grass around the Lhakhang.
I thank you on behalf of members and on my own behalf to Lopen Tshering and Caretaker (keynyer) of Lhakhang for refreshment served.

As we moved down, we came repairing road towards Lhakahng from higway. The filling of stones in the hole made by running water during rain and cutting of grass and bushes right and left of road was done. Finally, we were able to complete the task and reached to highways road. The plants that can be seen in the photo (sorry, I don’t know name of the plant) was taken from on the way to College to plant in College campus. We plate behind RK (Rinchen Khangzang)  and remaining in front of Block A.

We the members are always ready for future trip to Lhakhang and many more.

Nangkor Gathering

                                 Nangkor Gathering.

The tradition of Nangkor gathering which was first introduce by 2009 batch of Nangkor student of CST. It was formally organized in 2012, in the summer semester as a farewell for 2008 batch (in their final semester) of Nangkor student here in College of Science and Technology when they are passing out. The trend of gathering continued in 2012, in the winter semester to welcome the new comers of 2012 batch and in 2013 (summer semester) as farewell for the founder of Nangkor gathering, the 2009 batch when they are passing out.

Similarly, we the student of Nangkor in CST, the followers of the founder of Nangkor gathering never forget the tradition introduce by 2009 batch. This year, the new comers of Nangkor to CST were two, Domtu Dorji and Pema Yoezer, the brother of Pema Choden (the member of founder of Nangkor gathering, the 2009 batch). Of course the number of newcomers is less but we believe lesser the number more effective in whatever we do with less mistake. With our little experience in CST for past few years we convey relevant words to our new comers of Nangkor. The Nangkor gathering for newcomers was organized by my batch (2011) on 6th August 2013. The changes in Nangkor gathering this time was in regard to venue. The venue was in Phuntsholing town.  At 7:00 pm we moved from college to Phuntsholing.

After our arrival, the organizer (3rd year) started the program. The drinks (soft drinks) were distributed. The introduction and welcome speech was delivered by our senior (Simple) in our mother tough (sharchopkha). Then we allow two first year to introduce themselves. After an hour of exchanging the feeling between us, we the Ex- Nangkorien, we had dinner.  The drinks (hard drinks) were served as soon we were done with dinner.  We moved back to college before the hard drinks drag us. With few bottles of hard drinks we return to college through short cut. We could arrive back to college after twice rest on the ways. One at starting of step from Phuntsholing (above stream) and other at rest place on the way to CST.  We had fun on the way while we rest. As a token of appreciation by two first years to seniors they even sung a song while we rest.

We don’t take the path (short cut to Gonpa) but we take the highway till college from gate of Gonpa. As we planned, we gathered at heliport and had fun with drinks. We played games and finally we dispersed at 12:30am. The dispersed of gathering remind us the next gathering for farewell of outgoing Nangkorien of present final year. Let us wait the time to come…..

DDC, Dzongkha Development Commission

The program of Dzongkha Development Commission held in College of Science and Technology. March 12, 2013, in morning assembly Director of our college notified the arrival of people of DDC in our campus tomorrow. As scheduled, the honorable deputy director of DDC along with officials of DDC arrived in campus at 2 pass. In fact I was inspired with his talks and educate me, how and why enhancing of national language Dzongkha is relevant these days. Before, DDC director start his vision and mission of tour of DDC in various schools and college he start with differentiating the various ages of world in his perception. The ages dividing into three; the age of wars (the 19th century), the age of idea (toward the ends of 19th century) and the age of peace in 21st century. The age of peace of 21st century demand the relationship among countries and the identity of individual country too. Identity in small way that our country has is the National language. The identity of national language is more important as it represent the existences of our country long time back. As Director mentioned that the researchers specially the one who take blood sample of individual speaking different language and having text on them shows the existence of Bhutan much before China and Tibet. Having this concept, we Bhutanese should appreciate and enhance our national language. But director said that it is sad to learn that most of people are speaking and communicating in other language. For example when he go somewhere he said “Apa ge laptop, toothbrush, Colgate, trowel, (and so on in English) tshuk”. Here only first words Apa ge and last word tshuk is dzongkha and rest are all English. This give an evidence that our national language is vanishing without our notice. Now times have come for every individual to take initiative in promoting national language. Language isn’t the culture and culture cannot be language. Culture should be preserved for future generation. On the other hand, as technology advances the new object place in the way, so the obstacle arises in naming of object in our language. So, director asked every individual to have opinion in giving name of new objects. He covered many topic related to development of national language. In my opinion, we the Bhutanese are responsible for detoriating the national language as we always speak other language. We have seen many leader (head of any institutions, schools, organization and so on) comfortably speaking in English. Hardly have we seen those people speaking in our national language. National language, Dzongkha is our identity and we have right to promote.
